My Story

I had the same dream as you.

I want to help people. I want to be a doctor. But sometimes life gets in the way. In my case, I was afraid of blood – or so I thought until I was 27. Then I became an EMT-Basic to determine if I really could be a doctor, and I LOVED working in the Emergency Department! So my road was set. Except I was now 28 and I also wanted to be a Mom. 10 years of medical education and residency meant I’d be trying to start having kids a 38 (which is considered a geriatric pregnancy!). I chose to stay on my established career path to support having a family and then go to medical school. 3 years after my second child was born, I knew it was time. I entered a Postbac MEDPREP program. I excelled on the MCATs. I was admitted to 2 medical schools with an interview at a 3rd when I made my choice. I didn’t let COVID lockdowns stop me. And when my class finally was able to get together to learn, I discovered many of them were struggling for reasons beyond the pandemic! They had the smarts, they had the drive, most even had the support of family, but they were still having problems with the material as it was given to them. We would ask professors “How can we learn this?”, but except for a select few professors who were making the shift to interactive education, the response was “I don’t know, you figure it out.” So, I figured it out. And now my company is building the solution for you.
